Hi! My name is Maria Cruz and I just wanted to share a little more about me as a person in combination with my work found in my resume, events and theatre pages.
I currently reside in Portland, Oregon but I moved here from Phoenix, Arizona back in June 2025, so I am a newbie and am completely falling in love with the magic of Portland.
I love:
Hiking, performing arts, storytelling, collaboration, coordination, ideas, community, events, reading, crocheting, crafts of all kinds, hand made art, handmade gifts, sushi, the lake, trees, running and so much more.
Most importantly, I strive to work in areas I love. I am so thankful to have grown a skillset to thrive and succeed in theater arts and event management/coordination.
During the day you can find me at Pacific Northwest College of Art as the Deans Executive Assistant where I am coordinating, planning and executing staff social wellness events like bunny petting, wellness massages, vision board creating, monthly bagels and so much more., or I am issuing faculty contracts, handling budgets, project managing, talking with students, answering questions and helping staff, students and faculty, brewing carafe’s of coffee and so much more. If I’m not sitting behind my desk (which is probably only 70% of the time), I’m running around working on projects and events around campus.
During the evenings and weekends you can find me working as a Guest Services Team member at the Moda Center or Veterans Memorial Colliseum!
Since I’m new to Portland, I left my wonderful theatre community in Arizona (sad!) but I am so excited to start getting into events and the theatre arts community local to me in Portland (yay!).
I can’t wait to be a part of the arts community here in Portland!
When I’m not working at PNCA or the VMC or Moda Center, you can find me running with Latinas Running Across Portland or on a hike, or exploring something cool and weird in Portland with my boyfriend and his dog Bubba.
